Gerhard Theron is a Contemporary South African Artist.
He graduated from the University of Cape Town with a degree in Architecture in 2008, but has a great love for Art. He studied fine arts at Jacquey Theron Art School in Pretoria as well as at Tygerberg Art Centre in Cape Town.
Gerhards inspiration for his paintings comes from everyday life. His works reflects his busy and active mind. He has a deep curiosity to look and explore, creating paintings that move with line and colour and his work illustrates a combination of abstract ideas and realism. His medium of choice is Acrylic painting.
Gerhard has had two solo exhibitions namely "Countenance" in 2019 and "Luminary" in 2020.
Most recently his work "A Woman's Cry" has been selected to be exhibited as part of the "Home is where the Art is. Art is where the Home is" group exhibition at the Zeitz Mocaa Museum in Cape Town from October 2020 until January 2021.
